This #GivingTuesday donate $25 for 25 Years of Service!
Last year your contributions helped LCHC continue our mission to advance health equity for all Californians!
In 2018 – with your donations – LCHC:
- Trained and activated hundreds of community leaders, including youth, and engaged thousands of residents on health equity issues in the Central Valley, Los Angeles, and Inland Empire regions
- Sponsored and received the Governor’s signature on legislation including increasing funding for healthy food access in corner stores, making water and low-fat milk the default option in kids meals at restaurants, and reporting Alzheimer’s disease disparities.
- Mobilized community through our social media platforms to support new narratives on diversity and inclusion to counteract divisive rhetoric against Latinx and immigrant communities.
- Launched our first annual Latinx Health Equity Awards – recognizing health equity leaders across California !
We could not have reached these goals without your help and support!
Today, California’s Latino community represents 39% of the State’s population–that’s 15 million strong! The 2018 Midterms showed that Latinos are civically engaged now more than ever – with a 174% increase in voter turnout from 2014.
The top issues that Latinos care about–good-paying jobs, affordable health care, access to healthy food and nutrition, and humane immigration reform–are issues that are important to all Californians.
For 25 years the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California (LCHC) has been a major voice for initiating and advancing policies and programs to build healthy communities. Through community engagement, policy advocacy, and research, LCHC has been instrumental in promoting the health and well-being of all Californians. Together with community leaders, legislators, advocacy partners and yourself, we will continue to promote equity, justice, and health for all.
Join us to advance equity, justice, and health by DONATING today!
Your commitment to health equity and justice for all means the world to us, and we are humbled by your unwavering support.
With deep appreciation,
The Staff at LCHC
